THE BIG LIE

This photograph is of Grand Mufti Haj Amin-Al Husseini (the uncle of the now deceased Yassir Arafat) meeting with none other but Adolph Hitler, discussing their favorite subjects: how to exterminate the Jewish problem. Besides admonishing the Mufti to "get tough," one wonders if Adolph shared his favorite piece of philosophy with Amin,

… [I]n the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods। It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. People will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it. -- "Mein Kampf"
So let us hear from one of Hitler's proteges who simple-mindedly could not curb his enthusiasm enough to keep from spilling his guts out on the details of his party's "big lie." Let us hear from Zuheir Mohshen, PLO leader and military strategist, speaking with Dutch newspaper Trouw in 1977:
The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel... In reality today, there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians, and Lebanese. We are all part of one nation. It is only for political reasons that we carefully underline our Palestinian identity ... yes, the existence of a separate Palestinian identity serves only tactical purposes. THE FOUNDING OF A PALESTINIAN STATE is a NEW TOOL in the CONTINUING BATTLE AGAINST ISRAEL.
